- SEO Training for Beginners: This 30-minute video SEO training by Shopify covers the basics of SEO. It is ideal for people looking into learning more about e-commerce and Shopify. Topics include analytics, keyword research, on-site SEO, and off-site SEO.
- Intro to SEO by WordPress: This is a text-based course it covers plenty of SEO topics and is ideal for someone who is looking to get into WordPress.com. It has text tutorials on topics like search intent, keywords, and on-page and off-page topics.
- Google Search Console: You can analyze the performance and traffic of your site in search results. Apart from this, you can identify issues on your website and gather insightful data that can help make your site perform better in search.
- Google Analytics: It enables you to measure traffic and engagement across your web and apps. The UA is shutting down on 1 July 2023, so everyone is migrating to GA4.
- Bing Webmaster Tools: This is similar to GSC, but it’s for Bing. It provides your site’s performance data and a bit more functionality. You can do keyword research, audit your site, analyze backlinks, and more.
- Ahrefs Webmaster Tools: This is a free tool for website owners by Ahrefs which can help you get more detailed data about your site. This provides actionable SEO audits and detailed info about backlinks and keywords which bring you traffic. It fills the gaps of GSC, giving you even more insight into your data.
- Google Looker Studio: It lets you visualize data, connect to a variety of sources, collaborate with your team, and more.
- Page Speed Insights: PSI gives you a report about the user experience of a page on both mobile and desktop devices. Along with this, it also gives you suggestions on how to improve you can improve the speed of a page. It measures both the lab and field data.
- Lighthouse: It is a handy tool from Google that helps you improve the quality of web pages. It has audits for performance, accessibility, progressive web apps, SEO, and more. You can access Lighthouse via the Chrome DevTools.
- Chrome DevTools: It is a set of tools that are built into the Chrome browser. These tools include elements, console, sources, Network, performance, performance insights, lighthouse, memory, and more. You can do a whole lot of things like editing pages on the fly and diagnosing problems quickly.
- Mobile-Friendly Test: If you want to know whether or not a page is mobile-friendly, then this tool is the one for you. It shows you how a page looks to Google on a mobile device and highlights any problems that it finds. You don’t have to have a GSC account to be able to access this tool. Additionally, if you have access to the GSC, then you can also run this test through the URL inspection tool.
- Rich Results Test: If you wish to enable rich results, then this tool will be helpful for you. This checks what kind of rich results were found on the page and also highlights any errors within your structured data. (This is specifically for Google)
- Schema Markup Validator: If you want to validate generic Schema, then you can use this tool. It doesn’t show Google-specific information.
- Google Structured data markup helper: It helps you mark up elements on your web page so that Google can understand the data on the page.
- GTMetrix /Pingdom: Both GTmetrix and Pingdom measure page speed and provides suggestions on how you can improve it.
- Microsoft Clarity: It shows different data like heatmaps, session recordings, and other useful insights about your site. It also connects to your Google Analytics account to get better data.
- Answer the Public: It collects the data from Google autocomplete and visualizes it. It can be a good tool to discover untapped keywords and can help in your keyword research process.
- Free Ahrefs tools: Ahrefs provides a bunch of free tools to help you with your SEO tasks. These include keyword generator, backlink checker, keyword difficulty checker, keyword rank checker, and more.
- Keyword Planner: It is a keyword research tool for running ads on Google. However, it is also used as a keyword research tool for SEO purposes. It shows estimated search volumes and additional data like how much it will cost to target those keywords.
- Google Trends: It shows what people are searching for across the world in real-time. This data can be used for keyword research purposes and also to estimate how popular a term is at a given point in time.
- Similar web: This tool gives a lot of information about a website. Its data is divided into ranking, audience, competitors, marketing channels, outgoing links, technology, and more. It is a perfect tool for competitive analysis. They also offer a Chrome extension, if you do a lot of competitive research.
- Copyscape: It is a plagiarism checker that finds out copies of your content on the web.
- Wayback Machine: This tool archives the pages on the World Wide Web. You can find how web pages of a site looked like in the past, content changes, robots.txt changes, competitor on-page research, and more.
- Exploding Topics: It helps you find trends before they take off. You can say it’s a trend detection tool.
- Google Tag Manager: It is a tag management system that you can use to configure and instantly deploy tags (such as measurement and marketing tags) on your website or mobile app. It acts as a bridge between marketers and developers.
- Google Alerts: It is a notification service by Google that informs you whenever it finds new results- like web pages, blogs, articles, mentions, or any search term that matches the term you specified. The most common use case of this is to find unlinked mentions. You can also track competitors and find whenever someone posted a bad review about you on the web.
- Hreflang Tags Generator Tool: This tool will help you to generate Hreflang tags that you can use in the different language and country versions of your pages, using the correct values and syntax following Google’s specifications.
- HubSpot Website Grader: This measures your page performance, security, search engine optimization (SEO), and mobile experience. It also provides suggestions on how to improve the scores.
- SEMrush Sensor/MozCast/Google Grump/Rank Risk Index: All of these tools measures SERP volatility. The higher the volatility, the more chances there are of Google ranking updates and changes in Google rankings.
- Browseo: This tool lets you see how a page will look to search engines like Google. Find info such as redirects, text info, canonical, open graph tags, SERP preview, headings, and more.

- Octopus.do: This is a visual sitemap builder. It helps build, plan, and visualize your website structure in real-time. Along with this, you can also visualize the contents of a page and generate a visual sitemap for any site.
- Siteliner: This tool explores your site for issues like duplicate content, broken links, and page power, and generates reports about each page.
- HTTP Status Tester: Check from different countries around the world the HTTP status code, HTTP response, HTTP headers, redirect chains, and applicable robots.txt rules for multiple URLs.
- CLS Debugger: Test the Cumulative Layout Shift of a URL
- Disavow File Validator: The Disavow File Validator will analyze the patterns in your disavow file, find common mistakes and correct them where possible.
- URL Parse API: Query, validate, and parse URLs into their components via the URL Parse API.
- Googlebot API: Confirm if an IP address is used by Googlebot

- View Rendered Source: It shows how a browser renders a page. It shows you the original HTML, DOM (Document Object Model), and the difference between them.

- axe DevTools – Web Accessibility Testing: This is an accessibility extension that highlights accessibility issues on a website. Inspect the source of the problem and know how to fix the issue.
